For Age of Sigmar 3.0 there are three different boxes: Warrior, Harbinger and Extremis, whose differences can be found in the table below. Don’t worry if it doesn’t tell you much yet, we will go in detail soon. First a premise: the Stormcast Eternals are the classic “good guys”, warriors created by Sigmar himself from the souls of the Age of Sigmar: New Year, New Army – 3 Great Starter Forces. 2022 is going to be an excellent year for new armies. Another year has been and gone, full of setbacks, successes, and a ton of exciting new releases. We saw a brand new edition, new incarnations of classic models, and the return of the Dragons to the Realms. This is the top three AoS lists for Raccoon Rumble 2023: Age of Sigmar that took place in Germany on the 3rd and 4th of November. It saw 166 players vying to be crowned champion in a 6-game tournament. Here are three armies for completely new beginners. Warhammer 40k can be a pretty intimidating game to start. There are LOTS of armies and LOTS of models and a couple of books worth of rules to learn – at least at first glance. One of the biggest steps you can take is choosing an army to play. Fortunately, we’ve got some advice to help get Cities of Sigmar/Duardin army list. Hey guys! I'm in the process of building up an army of CoS dwarfs. I know it's perhaps not optimal, but I'm a casual player and I want an army of all dwarfs. I'm planning on proxying in a celestial hurricanum, but other than that I'm fairly clueless on what amount of ironbreakers, longbeards etc. to bring. So, the Space Marine Combat Patrol comes out on top once again (it was the best value as well). If you’re looking at starting an army in Warhammer 40,000, then the Space Marine Combat Patrol box is going to get you the biggest army for your dollar. Rawr. If your going for 2k at the cheapest. You can get 1900 points for £130 with 2 FEC start collecting then just one box of crypt ghouls if enough to reach 2k so about £160. This is straight from GW as well so from 3rd party sites you can get 2k for ~£130 but for a full army you might need more as FEC is death and they can summon. Warcry is great as a skirmish game, super thematic, and the models are amazing. You can also use it as a stepping stone to assembling a larger Age of Sigmar army, as all armies have rules for Warcry. It does have more of an upfront cost compared to Underworlds though, as the starter set is not cheap. You'll lose an awful lot, but you will have achieved your objective of taking a cheap army to a tournament. Pastiestman • 7 mo. ago. Stormcast are very kitbashable too. hammaxe • 7 mo. ago. SCE are quite cheap since there's a lot of them on second hand market. They are also fairly elite, which tends to mean low dollars per points.
I think by what your saying your more concerned about a model range as it sounds like you want a collection. So the cheapest ones like Flesh eaters and Beasclaw raiders don't tick those boxes. With that I'd suggest you rule out more expensive armies like LRL, Sylvaneth, DOK (depending on what build you do)
After a long hiatus from minis, I am coming back to the hobby and want to start an Age of Sigmar army. I played WH40k back in high school and college and loved my Tau.
